On Feb 28th 2022, LoginID launched WooCommerce support for LoginID’s passwordless authentication plugin for Wordpress, enabling Wordpress and WooCommerce users to integrate FIDO2 biometric authentication to their pages in as little as five minutes. All Wordpress and WooCommerce page owners will now be able to offer passwordless authentication, i.e. passwordless login and simplified account creation to their customers.
Issues with forgotten passwords and friction during the checkout process have resulted in cart abandonment issues in the eCommerce space. Installing LoginID’s WooCommerce plugin can mitigate these issues by creating a convenient and highly secure biometric authentication process for customers.
With LoginID’s plugin for WooCommerce installed, customers will be able to login and checkout all with the biometric (fingerprint or face scan) hardware that is native to their device. No biometric information is ever shared with LoginID, WooCommerce, or the website as it remains safely on the customer’s device in accordance with FIDO2 cryptography.
WooCommerce is a customizable eCommerce solution that is built into the Wordpress platform. Any Wordpress user wishing to add a commercial element to their site can easily add the WooCommerce plugin and enable payments, shipping, and a checkout process for their goods and services, protected with a biometric digital signature.
